Godchilla returns with their third offering, an illusion-fused vroom vroom hypno doom extravaganza titled ‘Psionic dreams’. the band worked with producer Curver Thoroddsen with the vague idea of twisting and bending their psychedelic surf doom sound in new and entertaining ways.
A lot of experimentation ensued, using gimmicky gadgets and excessive effects processing to find a path towards a complete dissolution of habitual form not finding that path at all they instead made a bunch of weird numbers, drone, drum n’ bass and a thing or two in between. most of them hung back near their place of origin but a few decided to come along and end up on a record.
That was how, armed with the weapon of relentless repetition, they forged this two-handed great sword of infernal judgement and mana replenishment that is Psionic dreams.
Mostly written in 2019-2020, it was heavily influenced by dreamt-up imagery of sun cults and alien worship along with day-to-day dissociation and the unclear sensation of something mysterious, grandiose and all-great being near but always out of reach
